Everything is bigger in Texas, and it's hard to imagine bigger than the sound of Texan Billy Gibbons and his Les Paul '59 Pearly Gates. Far from being satisfied with just one guitar, Billy insists on having the same humbucking sound as his '59 when he plays on another guitar. So after a call to La Maestra, Maricela “MJ” Suarez (Custom Shop Seymour Duncan), a new pickup kit was born. All the size, power of the P.A.F. as well as the signature sizzle of Billy's sound has been painstakingly recreated in a Strat-style single-coil pickup, proving that sound as big as Texas can be contained in such a small pickup.
The Red Devil for Strat consists of three specially calibrated pickups with Alnico 5 magnets. The bridge pickup is wound in such a way as to restore the spice of a P.A.F. and the power of Billy's sound. The neck and middle pickups provide Billy's signature bluesy warmth and grit, making them perfect for clean, rhythm or lead.
Handcrafted in Santa Barbara, California, the Red Devil Strat series features Alnico 5 magnets, 4-conductor wiring, and wax-bathed pickups for optimal performance.
